Open Arms Selby

Open Arms is a small business striving to provide the best available care and service to the learning disability and dementia community, whilst also being a column of support for our clients, their families and carers.

We offer two main types of service: in house; where clients come to our premises to join in a range of activities or community support where a member of our team will support you to achieve your aims and goals.

Our Mission Statement

We are an organisation providing quality supported activities for vulnerable adults.

To offer a service which is personal to the individual, including activities which are stimulating and have a purpose. Activities will include music, arts and crafts, modelling, painting and fitness classes to offer a fun and satisfying experience.

We will also encourage healthy lifestyle through fitness delivered in a sporting and fun way, healthy option menus with consideration for every dietary need.

To support the individual in an activity of their own choosing wherever possible and assist in outings with “Your Time” support being provided on request.

To support any vulnerable adult accessing the provision of a social hub (a meeting place for socialising) with the goal of building confidence through supported inclusion.

To ensure that all employees hold a current DBS check, with volunteers from the community also having checks undertaken in line with the current legislation.  Clients wishing to volunteer within the service setting will be fully supported and supervised, foregoing the need for checks.

Our staff will be supportive and friendly and follow company policies (in compliance with current regulations) and report to management with all concerns.

The care plan will be followed and updated on a regular basis, working with other organisations involved in the caring process.
